Conditional Colouring in Line chart marker.

Hi there,

You might have came across the need to showcase markers in a line chart.

For example, colour coding the marker according to a range.

In order to show the a simple marker in line chart you can enable them, select a particular shape and colour.

But what if you have to provide conditional colouring based upon the values of those markers. This functionality is not yet supported by Power BI.

But need not to worry because there is a way to by pass this and proivde conditional colouring to the markers of your line chart.

STEP 1 - Dont make a line chart. Sounds confusnig but you have to trust the process. Start by plotting a clustered column chart. Provide your axis and values.

STEP 2- Change the colour of bars using fx (Condional colouring).

STEP 3 - Change the chart type from bar graph to line chart and voila ! you have your makrers coloured according to the condition and dont worry these are dynamic and will support your data throughout.

Hope this helped you.
